Rasam Powder |
Ingredients for Rasam Powder:
- Dry Red chilli - 1
- Black pepper - 1/2 spoon
- Coriander seeds - 4 spoons
- Toor dal - 2 spoons
- moong dal - 2 spoons
- Jeera - 1/2 spoon
- Salt - optional (as preservative)
Preparation of Rasam Powder:
1) Take all the ingredients in a plate and sundry them for 1
or 2 hours. Or dry roast all ingredients individually for a couple of minutes
in simmer or medium flame.
This step is to retain freshness for long time of the
rasam powder.
2) Take all the ingredients in a mixer jar and make a powder
of it.
They may remain some granules of tur dal but it is good
to consume like this.
Serving Idea of Rasam Powder:
Rasam Powder is used to prepare the all types of rasam
like tomato rasam, pepper rasam and all; and also used to make rasam rice.
Tips:
- Homemade Rasam powder if made in small batches,can retain with the perfect aroma, flavour and colour.
- Store it in any air tight jar for longer shell life.
- Do not allow it to get wet so as to preserve for long time.
