Murukku is a traditional deep-fried
snack recipe of India made using rice flour and lentils flour and
is easy snacks to make at home with just a few of ingredients and
even won't stress you out in the kitchen.
There
are many varieties of murukkulu but the one I am sharing here is a
basic, old and standard traditional andhra recipe that is followed by
many south Indian women.

easy and instant murukku recipe that is usually prepared for

Chakralu/Jantikalu/Murukulu/Chakli Recipe - Step by Step Recipe with pictures
Ingredients for Chakralu/Murukulu :
1) Rice Flour - 2 Cups
2) Besan/Gram Flour - 1 Cup
3) Ajwain (carom seeds) - 1/2 or 1 spoon
4) Sesame seeds - 1/2 or 1 spoon
5) Salt - As per taste
6) Red Chili Powder - 1/2 spoon
7) Water - 1&1/2 Cup approx.
8) Oil for deep fry (Any cooking oil)
Preparation of Chakralu/Murukulu:
1) Take a bowl and add besan, rice flour with the ratio of 1:2
Add the sesame seeds, ajwain, salt and red chili powder to it and mix well.

2) Add required amount of water to the flour mixture & knead it and make a dough of it.
3) Take a Kadai/Pan and heat oil in it for deep fry.
4) Add 3 spoons of hot oil to the dough and knead it.

5) Apply or coat oil to chakli/murukulu maker and stuff a portion of the dough into it.
6) Once the oil gets heated then to check if the oil is required hot enough drop a small piece of dough in it and if it rise then oil is ready for deep fry.
7) Now with the help of the chakli maker press the dough into rounds directly into the oil or grease a plate or a skimmer which is used for deep fry and press the dough on it into round shape and drop them into the oil.
Tips:
- For safty reduce the flame to low or medium while dropping the chakli into oil.
- Fry them in medium to high flame to get crispness.
Chakralu/chakli are usually consumed as snacks and can be stored for 15-20 day or more.
